Plaster Moulds.

This is a piece I created in ceramics. We chose several items to take a mold of and then after rolling the clay out quite thickly we covered the items in oil and stamped them into the clay leaving their shape. Then after we turned up the edges to make walls on the clay and we mixed and pored the plaster into the mold. After it had dried and we had removed it from the clay we trimmed the edges with a ban saw and then went over it with a scour to enhance the detail. The red clay left the piece with a lovely rustic hint to it and I think it works very well with the piece and makes it look old and antique. I really liked how it turned out and I extremely enjoyed this process.
